Create International Taiwan just finished running our 5th School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions, and we are nearly done with our school project, “The Source of Life,” an evangelistic animated short film for the Shengzha Nuosu Yi People of China. We are presently running a six-week Frontier Filmmaking Seminar and are preparing to make a live-action short film for the working-class Taiwanese in Southern Taiwan. Our next School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions will begin on March 21, 2016.

Our center in Taiwan has a classroom/production room, an office, a recording/storage room, and a special room that we call the Mackay Room. George Leslie Mackay was a Canadian missionary who brought the gospel to Northern Taiwan in 1871. The Mackay Room will be used for meetings, but it's also our hospitality room for guest speakers in the School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions.

The walls above the couch/double-size-bed are covered with photos of different scenes in Danshui, and there's a large acrylic painting on the opposite wall depicting some of the mountains in the area.

If you are ever in Taiwan and want to check out our ministry, please contact us. We'd love to show you around!

We are lining up some amazing guest teachers, like Karen Chamalian (pictured at right) who will be teaching on Human Figure Drawing. We will also be honored to host a very talented manga artist from Japan (more details on this in a later update). If you are an artist and want to learn to use your talent to reach the unreached, fill out an application today!

We are excited to annouce that last week we finished editing the Marwari version of our evangelistic cartoon, "Coconuts!" The film is now in what we call "field test phase," where missionaries working in Rajasthan will be getting feedback from locals there. Now that the first version is complete, we can start on the other nine languages. This animated short film has a potential to reach an audience of fifty million people!
